Cam Cares Returns to Campbell County Libraries November 1 |
New, unopened undergarments will support students at local public schools through December |

A package of socks or underwear can make a school day easier for a child who needs a quick change of clothes.
Beginning November 1, Campbell County residents can help meet that need through the library’s annual Cam Cares campaign.
The drive runs through December 31 and collects new undergarments in their original, unopened packaging for local public school students.
Requested donations include socks, underwear, bras and T-shirts in a range of sizes.
How to help
Bring donations to any of the Campbell County Public Library’s four branches during regular opening hours.
The items will go to Family Resource Centers serving public elementary, middle and high schools in the county.
Check with your branch before purchasing if you want guidance on the sizes or items most needed.
Cam Cares, previously known as Drop Your Drawers, began in 2015 and helps schools keep basic clothing available for students.
The library’s campaign goal is at least 6,000 donated items.
Why these everyday supplies matter
A clothing accident, illness or difficulty getting laundry done can leave a student needing something clean during the school day.
Keeping supplies on hand helps school staff respond without waiting for a parent to bring replacements.
The drive also helps schools preserve resources for other student needs.
For families, businesses or neighborhood groups looking for a practical seasonal giving project, the request is straightforward: choose new items, leave the packaging sealed and drop them at a library branch during the campaign. |
