Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, giving Greater Cincinnati families a full weekend of ways to celebrate beyond the neighborhood candy route.

These picks run from Friday, October 30, through Sunday, November 1, with activities in Cincinnati and across the river in Dayton, Kentucky.

Friday, October 30: Art After Dark, 5–9 p.m.

The Cincinnati Art Museum opens the weekend with Bump in the Night, a free evening featuring DJs, gallery visits and ghostly museum stories at 953 Eden Park Drive.

Costumes are encouraged, but the museum prohibits weapons, wings, tails and facial coverings, and parking is limited.

Saturday, October 31: Halloween at CMC, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.

Union Terminal hosts a family day of science demonstrations, dinosaur discoveries, critter encounters and creative activities.

The celebration is included with museum admission and is free for members.

Saturday: Derry’s Fall Carnival, noon–6 p.m.

Rhinegeist welcomes all ages to its taproom at 1910 Elm Street for a free carnival with an interactive pumpkin patch, face painting, balloon art and trick-or-treating.

This is the daytime family event; separate evening programming is intended for adults.

Saturday: FC Cincinnati Halloween match, 2 p.m.

FC Cincinnati hosts the Philadelphia Union at TQL Stadium for a Halloween-themed matchday.

Match admission requires a ticket, and fans planning costumes should check stadium rules before arriving.

Saturday: Findlay Market trick-or-treating, 4–6 p.m.

Costumed children can collect candy from participating merchants inside the Market House and at nearby storefronts around 1801 Race Street.

The market says participating businesses will be marked, making this a convenient early-evening stop.

Saturday: Night of the Living Dead in Dayton, 8:30–10:30 p.m.

Commonwealth Comedy Club, 522 Fifth Avenue in Dayton, Kentucky, pairs the classic zombie movie with live commentary from Wisenheimers.

The ticket listing shows admission at $11.65.

Sunday, November 1: Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume Contest, 2:30–4 p.m.

Findlay Market’s canine costume contest takes place at Jane’s, with a $5 entry fee and 30 available registration spots.

Dogs must remain leashed and under control, and each competing dog needs its own registration.

Use the market’s posted afternoon time when planning your visit, and confirm ticket availability and any schedule changes with organizers before leaving home.
