Northern Kentucky High Schools Show Gains in Career Readiness |
Regional results outpace statewide progress in postsecondary preparation |

Northern Kentucky high schools improved several academic measures in the 2025–26 school year, with their strongest progress appearing in preparation for life after graduation.
Recent Kentucky school report-card results show an average regional improvement of 5.9 points in postsecondary readiness, compared with a four-point improvement statewide.
That measure reflects outcomes such as dual-credit coursework, industry credentials, college admission exams and other evidence of readiness for work or further education.
Dayton, Ludlow and Dixie Heights ranked among the area's higher-performing schools on this measure.
Dayton and Bellevue also recorded particularly large year-over-year gains.
Educators pointed to sustained efforts that help students plan beyond high school, including coordinated teaching teams and connections to nearby training programs.
The results were not uniformly positive.
Other academic areas saw smaller gains, while progress among English language learners declined on the regional measure.
For families across Boone, Campbell and Kenton counties, the report cards offer both encouragement and questions worth asking.
School-level results can differ significantly, so a regional average does not describe every campus.
Career readiness is an encouraging trend, but improvement remains an ongoing effort. |
